When users join the site they will have a Student role unless a Super Administrator upgrades a user to a Teacher role. In the wireframe Sarah is a Student and Dr. Lovable is a Teacher. Teachers have two extra rails: My Classes and Assigning Writing Partners. All documents and discussions by students in a teacher's or teachers' class will be automatically shared with the teacher(s) and teachers will have control over the properties and the editability of these documents and discussions.
Also can more than one teacher collaborate to create a particular assignment? Is there a way for a teacher to make a copy of another teacher’s assignment/project?
B A. 1. Sarah's Start Page
There are two or three examples of each below.
A. 2. Discuss/Chat Workspace (Purple): Example of a conversation with images and videos
When you make changes or add comments on this document the versions and edits should appear as long as you are on the page.

We have screenshots of a teacher's rails below. A student's rails are the same as the teacher's rail, without the bottom two icons (My Classes and Assigning Writing Partners)
The difference between the first three icons and these to is that the items on these rails work in relation to specific documents and discussions.
I like the idea that a student “invites” a teacher (or the class) to see student work. I’m wondering of Journalism, English 10 and AP English are actually classes the student is enrolled in?
In Create/Edit and Read/Annotate Workspaces, the user highlights any part of the text, a section of an image, or a moment in a video and makes a comment with or without and AI partner. The Discuss/Chat Workspace has the same design as the comment boxes without a referring text.
The comment box appears in the right pane, next to the text that you have highlighted
When underlined text is clicked on it is highlighted (or some other indicator) and the text scrolls up or down to the comment. Same when comments are clicked: text gets highlighted and moved next to the comment which is shaded when active.
The the Writing Partners that appear on a user's dropdown are either assigned by a teacher (in the Assigning Writing Partners Rail) or chosen by the student in the Writing Partners Rail
Under Add an Image, options include from a URL, from your computer. Students can also generate an AI image. Videos use embed codes.
