Social Justice: Final
The National Association of Social Workers defines social justice as this, “Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities.” Social justice supports the idea that everyone deserves equal chances and opportunities in life. It also means caring for the betterment of humanity and for the environment. An injustice around the world that is a deep concern for humans is climate change. Something that can combat climate change is to help pick up trash. This will help to reduce the dangerous greenhouse gasses put into the atmosphere. Measures that should be taken into consideration to make sure that justice is upheld are to make sure that you are mindful of littering and also to help pick up trash that others may have left behind.
An injustice around the world that I think is a concern is climate change. Climate change individually affects people by the air that we breathe and by the food that we eat. This is a serious injustice around the world that affects many parts of the planet. The humans and animals that live on the planet get affected by this because humans can get illness from the extreme heat or poor air quality. Also, animals who live in colder climates can have their habitats obstructed from the extreme heat. Climate change also affects the planet by damaging the ozone layer in the atmosphere. An injustice in a literary work that I have read is in Animal Farm. In this novel, there is an injustice between humans and animals. The humans believe that they are better than the animals and have the animals work for them, in return the animals revolt because this injustice is unfair to them. This novel relates to social justice events that happen today because we can see leaders today arguing and fighting over power similar to how Napoleon and Snowball were fighting for power among the Animals. In the novel Animal Farm, Napoleon writes on the list of commandments, "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others." This relates to social justice because it shows that the pigs believe that they are better than the other animals. But they use manipulation by stating that they are "more equal" in order to trick the other animals into believing that they are still equal to the pigs.
Something that can help alleviate the quality of life of the people around the world is recycling. Recycling plastics instead of throwing them away helps to reduce the plastic waste that is in the ocean and in landfills. Another thing that can help alleviate the quality of life of the people around the world is to use bikes and public transportation when you can instead of driving to reduce the amounts of toxic fumes entering the atmosphere. This is a good way to reduce the carbon emissions going into the atmosphere and this can help to protect the ozone layer. Measures that should be taken into consideration to make sure that justice is upheld are to enforce recycling into people's homes and into restaurants and urban areas. This can help to convince people to recycle instead of littering or throwing something into a trashcan. People also can be displaced after natural disasters. People can donate to organizations to help these people to get back on their feet.
What social justice means to me is that all humans should be treated with the same level of respect and that we need to take care of humanity and the environment to succeed. Some ideas that I have to make the world a better place is to encourage volunteer work in communities. Volunteer work is very important because it shows a genuine passion for what you are doing. People can volunteer in many different ways. You could volunteer for a soup kitchen to serve those in need. You can also donate older clothes to a homeless shelter. There are many ways that people can do social justice to help out their community.

To create an engaging headline for your essay on social justice and climate change, let’s explore five strategies you can use:
Prompts and Strategies for Writing Your Own
1. Use Power Words: Consider words that evoke emotion or a strong reaction related to social justice and climate change. Words like “urgent,” “transformative,” or “revolutionary” can capture attention. Think about crafting something like, “Transformative Actions Needed for Climate Justice Now!”
2. Incorporate Numbers: Numbers can help frame the scope or impact of your essay. You might say, “3 Ways We Can Fight Climate Injustice Today” to suggest a practical and actionable approach.
3. Create Urgency: Instill a sense of immediacy. Phrases like “Act Now” or “Before It’s Too Late” can drive readers to consider the importance of the topic. For example, “Act Now: Climate Change’s Critical Impact on Social Justice.”
4. Ask Provocative Questions: Engage readers with a thought-provoking question that relates to the themes of your essay. Something like, “Is Climate Change the Greatest Injustice of Our Time?” invites readers to ponder the issue deeply.
5. Use Humor or Puns: If appropriate for your tone, a clever play on words can make your headline memorable. Consider something like, “Justice or Just Ice? Unpacking the Climate Crisis.”
Remember, you should choose one of these ideas and write your own headline in a Reply. Then, ask in a Reply with AI and select me to give you feedback on your headline. Additionally, you might want to ask your teacher or other students what they think of your headline.
