When watching the presidential debate for this upcoming election, I could not help but wonder what matters most to the candidates. I wonder what they focus on the most during their rallies and what will happen to the country when either gets elected. This is important to me because I would like to know what’s going on with my country as a young African American woman who will be able to vote in the next election. I would like to see how this election will affect me and what I value in life as a young African American woman. I want to know if the candidate's beliefs affect what matters most to me. To me, what matters most is my family, my health, and my education. To be able to live my life stress-free without having to worry about money or debt from college. What matters most to me is that I am allowed to live a healthy, safe, affordable, and happy life.
VP Harris focuses on healthcare and ways to make it more affordable for the working and middle class. VP Harris also advocates for tax cuts, lowering the prices of taxes for the working class so people can enjoy their money and save. Harris also has ideas to create a federal ban on price gouging. In addition, she advocates for abortion rights and reproductive rights, which is something President Trump is against. Moreover, VP Harris has policies on fighting climate change and alternate uses of sustainable energy to protect our planet. On the contrary, President Trump is determined to stop immigration and wishes to go forward with his plan to build a wall as he believes it is essential for national security and economic stability. President Trump worries about immigration and how it has been harmful to job markets and public safety. Fact-checks have deemed these beliefs not true, yet President Trump still focuses on border security and illegal immigration.
In conclusion, VP Harris has many plans for what she will do when she gets elected, such as plans for affordable healthcare, abortion rights, combating climate change, and banning price gouging, in contrast to President Trump, who is mostly focused on immigration. It’s clear what candidate will help me live the life I want. VP Harris's policies and what she wants to do if she gets elected align with what matters most to me. She has plans to lower the prices of healthcare and taxes. During the debate, it seems like she understands the struggles of the middle class and wants to help. At the same time, President Trump hasn’t said anything other than wanting to put harsher policies on immigration. Whoever wins this election will certainly make a difference in the country.
