Debate Reflections: Key Issues and Personal Impacts

Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris offered a range of opinions during the most recent debate, some were good but most weren't. Although Harris's thoughts were more in line with my own, however republican party, both made a few key points. Vance presented unique ideas that are different from Trump's, even though he is running on the Republican side. While parts of their remarks sounded less helpful, Harris-Walz focused on urgent problems and possible remedies. Candidates provided a variety of opinions, with both having significantly different positions on important problems. They expressed opinions that mirrored the party's ideals, yet I found Harris's strategy to be more intriguing. The lingering question is what issues in each debate matter most to me and how it impacts people I care about.

The presidential debate included a variety of issues and heated arguments. Harris aimed to paint Trump as unreliable. Trump, meanwhile, was aggressive, accused the panel members of being biased, and had several comments that were viewed as defensive. I loved how Harris was calling Trump out on some things. Kamala Harris focused on protecting abortion rights, affordable healthcare, climate change, and police reform. Trump, on the other hand, talked a lot about inflation, immigration, energy, also blaming current policies for the rise in costs. I care about immigration, abortion rights, and affordable housing. I felt like Harris should've brought immigration up more. Also, have ideas to help support them. During the debate I heard wild things from Trump, but good ideas from Harris. I commented “This seems like a good idea because prices are high and a lot of families need help”, Kamala had great ideas to help those people with housing. She had a plan that would benefit others because getting housing is hard also, costs too much money. For abortion rights, I feel as though these women should have their own decisions about whether or not they want to abort their baby. I also think some females don't have a choice. Most females have to abort so they should have an opportunity to do so. Even though I don't relate to abortion right now, It may be beneficial to me in time. For immigration, trump had said really disrespectful things about immigrants without even knowing each struggle they go through. They should make getting a green card easier but more affordable too.

As a result, issues that mattered in the debate to me were Abortion rights, immigration, and affordable housing. These issues matter to me because it affects me now, but possibly in the future. These issues affect people I care about because of their experiences, also what they might go through. Kamala Harris brought up important issues that others weren't even talking about. I agreed with some solutions she had to support people in their lives. I hope improvements will be made to help people who really need it.
