Out of all the elections I have been alive, I feel this election cycle will be the most important. With the amount of conflicts and issues going on in America and the world, I think now, it is more important than ever to decide who will lead our country. With the country as heavily divided as it is now, It is, we must think about how the ideals that these candidates represent will affect us as well as our community and the people around us. In this composition, I will go over the issues that matter to me the most, as well as how they connect to my life.
The first issue that matters to me the most is political integrity and honesty with politicians. I believe it is crucial to analyze and pay attention to whether politicians are being truthful or following through on their promises. Especially since these politicians hold a larger voice than the average citizen, what they say can negatively impact people’s lives. An example of this would be when Former president, Donald J. Trump said “In Springfield, they’re [Immigrants] eating the dogs” during the presidential debate. As someone, who comes from an immigrant mother, it is extremely important to me that politicians are using their platform to unite people, rather than fearmonger and divide. The second issue that matters to me is the policies that politicians stand for. These policies are the very things that shape how our country will operate in the future As a young black man, I want politicians to value my identity when it comes to choosing what policies they support and endorse.
In this composition, I talked about the two main issues that matter to me the most, as well as how these issues affect me, and the people in my community.
The first issue I wrote about was the political integrity of politicians.
My main reasoning for this was that politicians have a larger platform and whatever they say has a large impact on the general public.
The last issue that mattered to me the most was the policies that political figures stood by.
My reasoning for this was that these policies play a huge part in shaping our communities.
