There is a condition called “Only child syndrome” that isn’t an actual diagnosed syndrome. Instead it is an observation on the personality and growth of only children. These observations include increased loneliness and introversion, but on the contrary also shows an increase in creativity and imagination, maturity, and independence.

Being an only child has been stereotyped as a negative prospect on any child from the beginning, as they can be seen as spoiled, and more disciplined due to being the only child. This stereotype is broadened to claim only children can be more narcissistic, are subject to over the top, or subpar parenting, and may have less social skills. But ultimately, the correlation is blurry, in fact siblings or not, the development of adolescents are far and in between regardless of the child count.
