Super Bowl 2025 Commercials: Big Ads, Big Money
Every year, the Super Bowl is not just about football, it’s also about the commercials. Companies spend millions to grab people’s attention with creative, funny, and emotional ads. This year was no different, with brands like Dunkin’, Hellmann’s, and Pringles airing some of the most talked-about commercials. But how much do these ads actually cost, and are they worth it?
This year, the average price for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial was around $8 million (Statista). Over the decades, this cost has increased dramatically. Back in 1965, a similar ad cost only $37,500 (Visual Capitalist). Companies are willing to pay these massive amounts because the game attracts over 100 million viewers, giving brands huge exposure.
One of the standout commercials this year was Dunkin’s “DunKings” ad featuring Ben Affleck and Jeremy Strong. Their hilarious attempt at forming a coffee-themed group battle made it one of the most entertaining ads of the night (Entertainment Weekly). Another fun ad was Pringles’ “The Call of the Mustaches,” which used humor to showcase its snack in a creative way (Yahoo Sports). On the other hand, Hellmann’s ad, which recreated a famous movie scene from When Harry Met Sally, felt a bit forced and didn’t have the same impact (Polygon).
Despite the high costs, companies continue to invest in Super Bowl ads because of the long-term benefits. A well-made ad can generate buzz, increase brand awareness, and even boost sales. While not every commercial is a hit, the exposure from the Super Bowl is often worth the price.
In the end, Super Bowl commercials are about more than just entertainment, they’re a business strategy. This year’s ads gave us laughs, surprises, and a few misses, but one thing is clear: companies will continue to spend big to capture our attention on the biggest night in sports.
