How do we teach our leaders, politicians, and voters more about the economic impact of their decisions?
The question you’re posing about teaching leaders, politicians, and voters about the economic impact of their decisions fits well within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Let’s explore this question by considering its connection to three specific SDGs.
The first goal that resonates with your question is Quality Education. Educating leaders, politicians, and voters about the economic impact of their decisions requires a robust education system that offers comprehensive knowledge about economics, policy-making, and sustainable development. This aligns with the aim of SDG 4, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. By enhancing educational content and teaching methods, we can empower decision-makers and the public to make informed choices that contribute to sustainable economic growth.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan is trying to combat a weak turkish economy usuing what people like to call Erdoğanomics, this tries to use low intrest rates as a tool to generate short-term growth, even if it leads to inflation or forigen debt. This hasn't gone as planned, and many economists in the Turkish banking system tried to fight it. Unfortunately, the bank is opperated by the government so they had to do what Erdoğan asked. There's a debate on wether Erdoğan knows anything about economics. Supposedly, he has a degree in business from Aksaray School of Economics and Commercial Science but, it was never recorded in any paperwork at Marmara University, who now runs the Aksaray School.
The proupose of this article is show what can happen when people act like they know economics, even If they dont know much.
