Where's My Thinking? - JA

I have learned more and more about the growing problem AI has posed to schooling in America. AI programs like ChatGPT and CoPilot are being used increasingly in high school, whether that be a good or bad thing. Some of the specific annotations I made involve the problems of academic misconduct, reduced student-to-teacher interaction, reduced social skills, and more. As a senior in high school myself, I have watched AI become a basis for many students to rely on. From essays to math quizzes, AI can do it all. And that is the problem.

I have decided to focus mostly on the academic misconduct standpoint of AI. AI can cause serious problems with students' ability to learn and communicate properly. It has become the go-to program to do homework quickly and effectively. For a lot of students, AI has killed the determination to learn and has replaced a sense of eagerness with laziness. Is there a way to change this? Or is it too late?
