Presidental Debate Watch Party

I believe that having a debate during presidential campaigns is very smart and important. We often hear what the candidates have to say in their rallies or writing. However, when you have the candidates debate over their different plans and political stances, you can truly see who is going to properly serve our country and who is all theory. Presidential debates are the time that we see the skills, knowledge, and quick thinking that the candidates possess. As we have learned through this program, debates are also the time to fact check people.

During the debate, the presidential candidates were asked their opinions on abortion. This could impact me after I graduate high school and college because I would not have control over my own body if abortion was banned. Kamala Harris believes that abortion should not be banned. However, Trump villainizes abortion and lies saying that people execute babies after they are born. Trump also has made it harder for people to get an abortion and is very much against it. If I was of voting age, this would give me the information I need to know and make me vote for Kamala over Trump.
