Bio

Hello, my name is Raul. I am a young high schooler in the Philadelphia area trying to succeed. I either want to be a veterinarian or an engineer. I have a deep passion for animals and I own 2 dogs and a pet bunny. My goal is to inspire future generations to do good things and take the opportunity they are handed. I am currently in a 4 year STEM program.

The Franklin Institute runs this program throughout the school year and the summer. The goal is to better prepare me for a STEM field in college but it also helps students with whatever they want to be not only STEM. My main focus right now is to obtain a scholarship so that I don’t have to pay for college. I chose SLA Beeber because they make sure that I get experience outside of school. With programs such as CTE Engineering, I am much better prepared for college and a working field. As a child of a single mother, I feel I must be successful. And if I want to be successful I have to put in the work.

I also Like playing sports such as basketball and skateboarding. I am kind of interested in politics. I am really passionate about food. I especially enjoy the food that my mom makes. If I could I would go into a career where I can make money off of food. Food is a big part of my identity. I first became interested in politics when the election was between Trump and Hillary Clinton. After that, I usually listen whenever the news talking about politics. My family is also really into politics. I remember starting to better understand them just because of the talks I would have with my mom. Every time something major happened in politics, my mom and I would talk about it. When I was younger I wanted to be the president. A lot of my teachers thought I could do it and I believed so too. I stopped believing it once I found out how many enemies I would have.
