I’m Laila Jengo and I reside in the West Philadelphia area. I am a student at Science Leadership Academy at Beeber. I’m one of five siblings and the only girl. I proudly represent both being African American on my mother’s side and Sierra Leonian on my father’s side.
I’m a very energetic and outgoing person, excited about life each and every day. I’m inspired to continually learn and grow, not letting much stop me. I want to try everything once, and really experience everything I can with all the time I’m granted. We only have one life and one Earth so I choose to make the best of it. I’m scared to think about the future, but I long to see the impacts I’ll make and the person I’ll become.
I aspire to be a future Black astronaut and reach for the stars! I can’t wait to see what opportunities present themselves to me and can’t wait to see new possibilities. I haven’t looked too much into what it takes to be an astronaut, but I know I have what it takes. I haven’t always dreamed about being an astronaut but I’ve always longed for exploration and new discoveries.
Though it took me a bit to get the hang of writing partners, this can definitely be great. Being able to comment on things live and get different interpretations of how people think. This can open many new doors, allowing me to understand different topics in a brand new way. I’m excited to see what this website brings to my literary growth.
