My name is Ruth and I am a junior in high school at Science Leadership Academy@Beeber. I am a part of the Career and Technical education program for Engineering. I am a member of The Commonwealth Youth Choir and have studied music since I was 9. I have played violin and piano as well. I really love reading as well, and enjoy learning new things. My favorite places are all near the water, I love the beach and spend days every summer reveling in the unpredictable waves. My favorite color is blue.
I am a part of many other clubs as well. I am the Vice president of our schools branch of the National Honors Society, and I help to organize community service for the group and individuals. I also am a part of the soccer team and have helped to build it and recruit members for it. It is a really cool thing to be a part of, because we are showing many girls who have never touched a soccer ball before how to actually play the game. I am also a part of the swim team which is a really awesome experience and I have learned a lot about general fitness from it. I am also a student ambassador and I get the opportunity to tour students around our school. I really enjoy this responsibility because there are a lot of things that make our school special and I enjoy sharing them with potential incoming students.
I am a high achieving student, but that is not all that I am. I love many different things in my life. I am a camp kid. I have been going to camp since I was seven and this past summer had the incredible opportunity to be a counselor in training which was a special experience. And I spend time at my grandparents house in Nova Scotia, Canada which is a beautiful place and is where I learned to sail and paddle board and do most water sports.
