My name is Dayciana Gayle Selby. I am an African American young lady who doesn’t know a lot about my heritage, but I like to explore new things and different cultures. I play volleyball, which I’m pretty good at, and compete in swimming. In a recent volleyball Varsity game we were up against a school that had previously beaten us, and we were down to the last set. The scores were tied up to 25/25 and whoever got to 27 first would win the game, the tension was so high I could feel my heart in my stomach, we worked hard to the very end and gained to more point; winning the game. I want to learn how to skateboard, and get better at my sports. I try to be pretty athletic by trying different sports.
I also like to play different instruments. Previously I played the snare, xylophone, guitar and piano. I want to continue my studies in the xylophone and piano, and play the guitar for fun. I’m very basic at all of them which is why I need to practice more. It may seem like I’m just an indecisive child, which is partly true, however it’s more about my interest. I’m pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADHD so things peak my interest pretty easily, I’ve always been interested in music in general and I think it’s really cool to know a lot of different instruments. I’ve been in Music classes since I was younger so It was pretty easy to try new things. My Parents always complained about the cost of learning new things but they still encouraged me to do so and supported my actions.
